From Judicial Watch:
Back in 2010 Judicial Watch obtained government documents—once marked “Top Secret”—that reveal between 2001 and 2007, the CIA briefed at least 68 members of Congress on its interrogation program. This included so-called “enhanced interrogation techniques.” The dates of all congressional briefings and, in some cases, the members of Congress in attendance as well as the specific subjects discussed are included in the files. Pelosi, who has publicly denied she was briefed by the CIA on the use of these techniques, is specifically referenced in a briefing that took place on April 24, 2002, regarding the “ongoing interrogations of Abu Zubaydah.”

My thoughts on the very self-serving senatorial report on
"Torture". None of the interrogators were interviewed. The roles of
dictatorships like Syria and Libya (remember Benghazi-just what was Obama doing
there?) in the CIA rendition programs were left unexplored—or least hidden
behind layers of confounding redactions that make many passages of the report
incomprehensible. There’s no concrete answer about who really gave the torture
orders. And the role of the Obama administration, which slow-rolled the release
of the report for five years, was all but ignored. How convenient!
Diane Feinstein was careful to ignore her personal role in
calling for more use of the enhanced interrogation measures in the days
immediately following 9/11. In the early days of the program, CIA officials
briefed the leadership of the House Intelligence Committee - that means
committee heads from BOTH POLITICAL PARTIES knew all about it. Few records of
that session remain. How convenient!
The White House, President Obama and his spokespeople
continue to refuse to answer directly any questions regarding efficacy of
intelligence obtained from the enhanced interrogations - did the intelligence
obtained save American lives? Even one American life? I will repeat that: The
White House continues to ignore that important question - Did intelligence
obtained through enhanced interrogation result in the saving of American lives?
Ignored. How convenient! If the White House admitted the enhanced techniques
saved American lives then the natural conclusion of all reasonable people would
be that the techniques WERE EFFECTIVE! And therefore necessary.
But, but, but the White House tells us that the intelligence
derived did not stop a single attack! Our leadership, both republican and
democrat, and the president are pulling off the equivalent of "Look a
squirrel!!" They are trying to keep American citizens from realizing the
truth that American lives were saved as a result of the use of enhanced
interrogation. Have we been attacked on a scale of 9/11 since 9/12? No. Were
America lives saved as a result there being no attack on the scale of 9/11 since 9/12? Yes. Was enhanced interrogation responsible? How can anyone prove that it wasn't without breaking the laws regarding secrecy? Perhaps the left with its claim to the moral imperative will positively claim those interrogation techniques are a failure after the next 9/11 scale attack on our shores, or the shores of our allies. I think our elected leaders need to do more than play political gotcha games with our security.
The left loves to posture itself as holding the moral
imperative in all situations of a political nature. This report released on “Torture” is merely a
way to for the left to posture themselves as possessing a moral imperative on
human rights. In a “perfect world” we the people would prefer to be known by
our ideals, yeah we all get that. The
left needs to get used to the fact this ain't a perfect world. This is a world
of seriously kooky, religiously intolerant murderers who would rather see you
and your neighbors dead. How do I know? These murderers never cease reminding
us of that fact. I do believe people say what they mean, especially when they
follow through on what they say with murderous actions. On 9/11 these kooks killed
3000 of our neighbors in one morning. This is a world where you simply can't wish
murderous enemies away as a normal part of foreign policy. No matter how much
the left would wish them into the corn fields of flyover country or just wish
to ignore them, the issue will not go away.
Ask yourself this: If your children are being held hostage
and are facing beheading by intolerant religious nuts - would you want someone
to use every means at their disposal to stop the inevitable? Including
intelligence obtained by enhanced interrogation to save your child's life? Or
would you worry incessantly about how the NON-LETHAL enhanced interrogation methods
might make someone on the left politically uncomfortable because enhanced
interrogation is “Torture” in their political lexicon?
Man up! Grow a pair! KSM and his ilk should be greeting
everyday above ground as a gift from god because we chose NON-LETHAL methods of
interrogating them. Unlike western hostages who are beheaded by the religion of
peace, our "hostages" of enhanced interrogation still draw breath. I
don't know about you, but I would prefer that those murderers be used to fertilize
a corn field instead.
